Matter Type Restructure – Stage 3 complete

Stage 3 of the Matter Type Restructure has now taken place.

The Matter Types earmarked for deletion has now been finalised.  Numerous emails were sent to clients over the past month and the Matter Types were deleted on Monday 31 August 2015 and will no longer be accessible by our clients.

We trust that this matter type restructure is a benefit to all our clients and would like to thank you for your feedback and patience during this project.

MATTER TYPE RESTRUCTURE – Deletion scheduled for 31 August 2015

You will be aware that Stage 2 of the matter type restructure took place on Wednesday 17 December 2014 as an ‘end of year cleanup’.

Stage 3 which is the deletion of these Matter Types has now been scheduled for Monday 31 August 2015.  Emails will be sent to clients notifying them of Stage 3 Matter Type Deletion.

What will happen?
The Matter Types under ‘TO BE DELETED – Old Matter Types Not To Be Used‘ will be deleted and will no longer be useable by your firm.

My Precedents are under a Matter type that is to be deleted, what do I do?
If you had set up precedents under these matter types, you can easily move them to the correct matter type that will not be deleted.  To move precedents from one matter type to another, see the Help article note for your product below:

LEAP Documents        LEAP in the Cloud

Using the standard matter types rather than the old ones that are to be deleted should not impact on your own customised precedents as the information contained in each of the standard matter types should be the same as what was in the old ones.

All of the LEAP forms and By Lawyers precedents are based on the matter types that are set up in LEAP by the Content teams.  For this reason, it is important that you are using the standard matter types that LEAP maintains.  This means that all of these forms and precedents merge with your information correctly.  If you are using the matter types contained in the ‘To Be Deleted’ section, these are not maintained by LEAP and forms and precedents are not updated based on these matter types.

Client feedback in relation to Matter Types marked ‘To Be Deleted’
Over the past few months a small number of clients have contacted us regarding the deletion of certain Matter Types.  If you feel that you have a strong argument as to why a Matter Type should be kept, please put forward your explanations in an email to content@leap.com.au.  Prior to deletion, we shall consider client requests and determine whether any Matter Types should be kept that are currently earmarked for deletion.

If you have any questions or require assistance with any issues, you can connect with our Australian Helpdesk.

Profile Merge – Deletion of old Profiles

The project to merge of the LEAP and By Lawyers profiles together is now complete.

You would have noticed that a number of profiles were labelled ‘To be Deleted’ about a month ago in preparation of the finalisation of the merge.

These profiles, which contained no LEAP forms or By Lawyers precedents, have now been deleted.

If you are a LEAP (in the Cloud) user, and you had your own precedents stored within any of these profiles, the profile will be deleted but your precedents will be moved over to the newly merged profile.

If you are a LEAP Documents user, and you had your own precedents stored within this profile, the only change you should notice is the name of that profile will change to say ‘No Longer Updated…” and the name of the old profile.  If you don’t have any precedents stored within the profile, it will be deleted.

We recommend that you do move your precedents to the newly merged profile so that you don’t have to keep switching between the profiles, however this is of course up to you.  Our recommendation is to create a folder of your firm name or perhaps a ‘Commonly used Precedents’ folder at the top of the precedents list and store your own precedents within here.

Thank you for your continued patience through the profile merge that has taken place.  We hope that having everything in the one location will be beneficial to everyone in the long run.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the HelpDesk by logging a call online or calling 1800 007 709.
